To improve the service life of the diesel generator set has a lot to do with the user's operating habits. Having a good operating habit and regular maintenance can make the generator set as new and keep its operation in the best state.

Diesel generator sets will cause certain damage to the engine during long-term low idle speed or no load for more than 10 minutes. Because the combustion chamber temperature is so low that the fuel cannot be fully burned, it is easy to form carbon deposits around the injector nozzle and piston rings and occasionally cause valve sticking problems. If the engine coolant temperature is lower than 60°C, the insufficiently burned fuel will wash away the lubricating oil on the cylinder walls, resulting in the dilution of the lubricating oil in the crankcase, and the dilution produced by the insufficient combustion of the fuel will affect the lubricating oil quality and shorten the service life of the engine.

The no-load running time of the diesel generator set is generally not more than 5 minutes. After 3 minutes of warm-up, the speed can be increased to the rated speed and loaded.

Therefore, shortening the idle speed and no-load time can effectively prolong the service life of the diesel generator set.
