Today's power generation technology has progressed again. After long-term practice, China has produced a large-scale supercritical carbon dioxide cycle power generation experimental unit. China's first carbon dioxide cycle power generation experimental device was successfully tested in Xi'an Huaneng Test Base. After 72 hours of long-term operation, this large-scale device can use supercritical carbon dioxide as the working fluid basis, and convert the produced heat into mechanical energy for the equipment to generate electricity. During full load operation, the maximum temperature of the generator set can reach 600 °C, the maximum pressure can reach 20 MPa, and the power generation has reached an astonishing five megawatts.

Due to the higher energy supply efficiency of supercritical carbon dioxide, the internal equipment and parts of the carbon dioxide cycle generator set will also be reduced accordingly, which can increase the energy supply speed of supercritical carbon dioxide and promote the overall power generation efficiency of the equipment.

The carbon dioxide cycle generator set occupies a smaller area, and in the same volume space, it can be installed in more quantities and generate more electricity. Therefore, the carbon dioxide cycle generator set has a wider range of applications and greater power generation value.
